Harry’s Charbroiled is about to celebrate its first birthday, and for the occasion the diner will be giving away FREE burgers and collecting donations for the Parkdale Community Food Bank.
Taking place from noon to 4 pm on Thursday, October 5, owners Grant Van Gameren (Bar Isabel, Bar Raval, Harry’s Charbroiled, Tennessee Tavern, Victor Dries Catering), Nate Young and Robin Goodfellow (Bar Raval, Pretty Ugly, Harry’s Charbroiled) will be dishing out Plain Jane burgers in exchange for donations which the restaurant will match dollar for dollar (up to $5000).
“Harry’s is a Parkdale institution and we’re fortunate to have been embraced by this community since it was passed along to us a year ago. It’s very important that we give back to Parkdale – everyone deserves access to good, quality food regardless of their income,” said Van Gameren in a press release.
Meanwhile, the day’s proceeds from Ace Hill Beer and Jameson will also be donated to the local food bank and @parkdalelife will sell a new run of its sold-out No Frills t-shirts and will also donate proceeds.
Oh, and there will be a birthday cake too!
