New happy hours in Toronto to check out for your next after-work drink

Sep 29 2025, 5:10 pm

There are few better ways to shake off a long work day than hitting a happy hour, and these new ones in Toronto are among the best.

Oh, happy hour. We could write an ode about our appreciation for bars’ and restaurants’ commitment to making their food and drink cheapest when we absolutely need it most.

Whether it falls in the last hours of the workday, the wee hours in the morning or at any point on a Monday, a happy hour always delivers on its promise to put a smile on your face.

If you’ve tired of exhausting your same old go-to spots, here are a few new or updated happy hours that you need to check out for after-work drinks this week.

Everyside

Very little can compete with a daily happy hour, but a multi-hour happy hour that happens twice daily? Yeah, we’ll drink to that.

This recently opened Financial District gem from the team behind Saint John’s Tavern and Piccolo Café offers afternoon and late-night happy hours with pocket-pleasing deals that include their house beers and mixed shots for $5, wine on tap for $7, and espresso martinis and aperol spritzes for $10.

When: Daily
Time: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Address: 120 Adelaide St. W.

The Drake Hotel isn’t a new addition to the local landscape by any means, but its new Tuesday happy hour deserves a shoutout nonetheless.

Every Tuesday night between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m., dust off your chopsticks and sink your teeth into half-price sushi and $5 Sapporo to help you over the mid-week slump.

If sushi isn’t your thing, not to fear, they also have a daily happy hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. that includes a slew of staples sure to satisfy.

When: Every Tuesday
Time: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Address: 1150 Queen St. W.

When: Daily
Time: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. to close Sunday through Wednesday
Address: 114 Ossington Ave.

Ballyhoo Riverdale

This Vancouver institution landed on Danforth this past spring, and, while you can find a full suite of pub food staples here daily, their happy hour is a true standout.

99-cent wings, $5 lager and $9 cocktails are all among the cheap-and-cheerful offerings you can order Monday through Friday during happy hour at this upscale take on the Irish pub.

Time: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

This King West vinyl bar may have been a hit with the celebs during TIFF earlier this month, but you don’t have to be an A-lister (or have A-list money) to enjoy it for yourself.

Oysters, served with fixings like yuzu mignonette, are priced at $2 a pop, or you can get your fingers greasy with a $12 fried chicken bucket, among a selection of other discounted food offerings. As for drinks, you can score a variety of $10 cocktails alongside discounted wines.

When: Sunday to Thursday
Time: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Address: 480 King St. W.

Shameful Tiki Room

This recently relocated Toronto classic is back and better than ever, keeping the city fuelled with its necessary fill of retro kitsch and tropical cocktails.

Every day between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., you can sip on some of the bar’s best-selling cocktails for $13, shots for $5 and Miller High Life for $6, while nibbling on $6 fries and the always-popular chips and dip for $12.
