16-year-old killed in overnight North York shooting identified by police

Police have identified the victim of an overnight shooting in North York earlier this week as 16-year-old Hanad Ali, of Toronto.

Reportedly, on Thursday, August 1, just after 1 am, police responded to the sound of gunshots at 30 Falstaff Avenue.

Police say that responding officers located a male victim — now known to be Ali — in the stairwell of the building, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

It’s reported that three male suspects were seen fleeing the area in a dark-coloured Honda.

Investigators wish to speak to anyone who may have knowledge concerning this investigation.
