A new spring/summer collection has been announced for Uniqlo Canada.

The Hana Tajima line will be the launch of the designer’s collection in Canada. The collection, which includes clothing for women in hijabs, is inspired by the relationship between movement and form.

The 2017 line also continues the theme of Uniqlo’s approach, blending comfort with versatility in contemporary styles. Tajima’s collection theme of “Bringing Abstract to Life” features 30 items in 81 colours and patterns will be available across 15 countries globally.

According to a Uniqlo press release, the line “is predicted to be a great fit for Canada’s rich cultural environment and diverse population.”

“Hana Tajima for Uniqlo is a collection that is versatile and inclusive. We are introducing new lightweight fabrics and cutting details that enhance the natural movement of the body. There are soft, draped elements in dresses, tunics, and full-length pants alongside more sculptural shapes and silhouettes. These changes are all aimed at giving the wearer complete comfort and an understated elegance,” said Hana Tajima in the release.

The collection includes pieces such as wrap tunics, flared long dresses, and tapered ankle pants.

Hana Tajima for Uniqlo launches on February 24. The collection will be available at the Toronto Eaton Centre and Yorkdale Shopping Centre.
