OCAD is having a huge FREE art show featuring its up-and-coming grads

This May, you’ll have the chance to ogle at work by Canada’s next generation of artists and designers… completely free of charge.

OCAD University will showcase the work of the Class of 2019 at the Annual Graduate Exhibition (GradEx) from Wednesday, May 1 to Sunday, May 5.

Spread out across several buildings on campus, including the emblematic Sharp Centre for Design, the exhibition expects to draw over 45,000 guests.

And if you attend on Wednesday, opening night, you’ll get to see one graduating student from each of the 24 programs recognized for their “high academic standards, creativity and mastery of technique” with an OCAD University Medal.

“We are extremely proud to display the work of our talented graduating students, so it is with great pleasure that we invite the public to see the new and exciting art and design pieces,” said Dr. Sara Diamond, president and vice-chancellor, in a press release.

“The students are prepared to launch their careers in a wide range of fields from advertising to industrial design. Art and design are in-demand disciplines that engineering, computer science, health and other areas of science require to establish creative approaches in their fields.”

GradEx will also offer the public an opportunity to purchase the students’ work.
