There's a magical 3 km drive-thru Christmas light journey near Toronto this winter

There’s another reason to visit Niagara this holiday season, especially if you are looking for Christmas lights.

Glow Gardens will be hosting a three-kilometre, drive-thru Christmas light journey at Safari Niagara starting next month.

“Over a million lights will transform the landscape into a twinkling wonderland, November 18 – January 2, where reindeer and teddy bears are larger than life,” reads the event description.

The holiday drive-thru will have visitors remaining in their vehicles at all times on the 40-minute route, where they can tune into an exclusive holiday radio station, GLOW FM, and marvel at features like a towering three-story light tree, an intricate Christmas castle, and 10-foot snowmen that never melt.

While Glow Gardens has operated since 2017 in more than a dozen indoor locations in Canada, the US and Denmark, this is the very first time the holiday event will create a touchless, drive-thru experience, ensuring all COVID-19 precautions are met or exceeded, to keep visitors safe.

“Christmas spirit is just a little more important this year, amidst all the challenges of COVID. So we’re excited that Safari Niagara can host Glow Gardens because of its unique outdoor venue and ability to operate in a safe way,” said Lawrence Jansen, CEO and founder of Glow Gardens.

“It’s a really fun challenge for our team to adapt all the beautiful displays that our past guests have enjoyed indoors. And we’re confident that the magnitude of the exhibits, all the flashing colours, and GLOW FM will make this a memorable experience that can be enjoyed from the warmth and safety of your own car.”

The theme of Glow Gardens Niagara is “Santa’s Lost Presents.”

Visitors will be encouraged to watch for giant packages that have been lost in the lights.

To keep the event contactless, all tickets must be purchased in advance online for a specific entry time.
