The City will no longer close the Gardiner for maintenance on weekends

The Gardiner will no longer be closed for weekend maintenance next month.
Instead, Mayor John Tory announced that the City will be closing the major highway for its fall maintenance overnight on November 13 to 14 and November 27 to 28.
Tory also said that the Don Valley Parkway won’t need to be closed for a weekend this fall for maintenance.
Gardiner will need to be closed for fall maintenance but we’re going to do things differently. Instead of full weekend closure, we will do OVERNIGHT work on Nov 13-14 & Nov 27-28.

In a series of tweets, the Mayor said that members of different City divisions met on Wednesday “to better coordinate road closures for the fall/winter.”
They are also planning the 2018 calendar to better plan road closures.
“Toronto is a growing city. Never a perfect place or time to do roadwork, but I remain focused on coordinating all projects to avoid significant delays & headaches for commuters,” he said.
