Toronto Fringe Festival: 7 shows you should see before it ends

The Toronto Fringe Festival is in full swing this week, and the shows go on until July 10.

From original stories to classics with modern twists, the Toronto Fringe Festival truly offers a variety of entertainment for everyone, and for all ages.

With a handful of days left to go in the annual festival, here are a few shows you shouldn’t miss.

SExT

Let’s talk about SExT, baby. SExT – which stands for Sex Education by Theatre – is a show that combines singing and dancing with serious sex related topics such as consent, sexting, and relationships.

Women

Remember Jo March in Little Women? Think that 1800s story line, only through the lense of HBO’s hit series “Girls.”

Romeo & Juliet Chainsaw Massacre

Because, in addition to them being torn up in love, Romeo & Juliet being actually torn up just adds a little more spice to the classic story.

When: July 5 at 3:15 pm, July 7 at 9:15 pm, July 8 at 2:15 pm, July 9 at 11:30 pm, and July 10 at 5:15 pm

Best Picture

Cool down this week with one of the best shows at this year’s Fringe Festival. Best Picture features three actors playing a cast of thousands in this award-winning mix of every Best Picture Oscar winner lampooned in 60 minutes!

Bright Lights

Theatre Brouhaha brings this dark comedic tale about survival, trust, and alien abduction. This has been a fan fave at this year’s festival!

Life After

Award-winning Life After is a story of love and loss told by a 16-year-old who tries to  navigate life after after a serious accident caused by her father.

When: July 6 at 11 pm, July 7 at 3:30 pm, July 9 at 8:45 pm, and July 10 at 2:45 pm

WasteLand

This hilarious show follows a man and his dog as they seek life after a global disaster. Brought to you by the always entertaining improv group Sex T-Rex, this is a guaranteed laugh.
