You can buy locally grown Christmas trees at the Toronto Christmas Market

In case you haven’t been on social media lately, the Toronto Christmas Market is officially open.

The massive outdoor holiday event features everything you can imagine, from mouthwatering food to a stunning 50-foot Christmas tree – and plenty of holiday shopping in between.

But this year, Forests Ontario has partnered with the market to host its Forest Ontario Holiday Event, which is aimed at promoting a sustainable holiday season and will be selling locally grown Christmas Trees at the Toronto Christmas Market.

The trees will be available the first two weekends in December and each tree purchased will actually help contribute to Ontario’s Tree canopy, as with every tree bought, a tree will be planted by Forests Ontario.

On top of having a green Christmas, you will also gain one free entry into the holiday market and a sustainably sourced wooden reindeer ornament to add to your collection.

Forest Ontario Holiday Event

When: December 1 to 3 & December 8 to 10; Friday 12 pm to 10 pm, Saturday 10 am to 10 pm, & Sunday 10 am to 9 pm
Address: Distillery Historic District, Toronto Christmas Market (near the ticket tent)
