Ford to provide update on Ontario's COVID-19 vaccine rollout plan

Feb 2 2021, 2:03 pm

Premier Doug Ford will provide an update on Ontario’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout plan on Tuesday afternoon.

Ford will be joined by Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, Solicitor General Sylvia Jones, and General Rick Hillier (retired) for the update.

Last week, Canada didn’t receive any Pfizer vaccine with a limited supply arriving this week. And there will also be a limited supply of the Moderna vaccine arriving this week across the country.

A Canadian-made COVID-19 vaccine began human clinical trials last week, with a possible vaccine ready by the end of the year.

To date Ontario has administered 341,900 doses of the vaccine, with 70,293 fully vaccinated.

They’re currently administering 2,256 doses a day.

The press conference will take place at 1 pm from Queen’s Park with a technical briefing at 11 am.
