Premier Doug Ford is set to make an announcement in Scarborough today with the associate minister of transportation for the Greater Toronto Area.
Ford and Etobicoke Centre MPP Kinga Surma are expected to speak at a 1 pm during the daily press briefing.
The announcement comes a day after Ford addressed his government’s rejection of the TDSB’s back-to-school plan, which shortened days by 48 minutes in order to have smaller class sizes.

The Ontario government said the plan cut time for students to be in class in order for teacher’s to block off time in the day for their prep time.
They also refused to approve the TDSB’s plans for a “quadmester” high school year, saying it did not give students enough time in class — it would provide 25% of the standard in-class time.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce said that earlier on Monday, they had productive discussions with the TDSB to maximize the amount of time students can be in the classroom.
