Premier Doug Ford is set to provide an announcement on Wednesday afternoon with top officials on Ontario’s COVID-19 vaccination rollout.

Ford will be joined by Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, Solicitor General Sylvia Jones, and General Rick Hillier who runs the COVID-19 task force.

On March 15, the province’s online registration system will open for those 80 and older to book an appointment to get vaccinated.

With Phase 2 of the plan starting next month, those 60 to 79-years of age will be able get the vaccine by July, depending on delivery.

Phase 2 will take place from April to July with the intention to vaccinate nine million people.

To date, 943,533 first doses have been administered with 276,193 fully vaccinated.

The press briefing will take place at 1 pm from Queen’s Park.
