Premier Doug Ford is set to make an announced on COVID-19 vaccine distribution on Friday afternoon at Queen’s Park.

Ford will be joined by Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, and General Rick Hillier (retired), Chair of the COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution Task Force.

On Thursday, Ford said that he wants a “decisive plan” from the federal government on the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine.

“We have a lot of questions to ask. When are we getting the vaccine, what are we getting cause there’s different types, and how much are we getting. Three simple questions,” Ford said at the time.

Federal health officials confirmed yesterday that agreements had been reached to procure up to 194 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, with the option to purchase an additional 220 million more.

The press briefing will take place at 1 pm.
