A dog rescue group is holding a series of virtual fundraisers and initiatives this month and into the spring to provide help to dogs in need.

Finding Them Homes helps communities along Northern Ontario’s James Bay coast and other remote locations reduce dog over-population by adopting dogs out to their forever homes. They also run spay/neuter clinics in the communities and provide donated dog food and supplies.

Fundraising events happening in February and March include a 50/50 Draw with a goal of raising $5,000 total – $2,500 donated to the rescue and $2,500 to the winner.

There are also Custom Pet Tags by Katie Cook’s Custom Creations available as well as Goodest Pup Beer and Hats for sale through Redline Brewhouse and participating LCBOs.

The rescue group is also holding a Virtual Trivia Night on February 20 hosted by Linda from Canvas Brewing Co.

The event will test participants’ knowledge of music, history, sports and more, with all proceeds of the event being donated to Finding Them Homes.

“To raise the necessary funding to help these dogs and communities we run a series of fundraising events every year as we are totally reliant on our generous supporters and dedicated volunteers,” said Finding Them Homes in a release.

“COVID-19 has of course challenged us like many organizations to adapt our fundraising efforts to virtual events.”
