FIFA World Cup ticket prices revealed and here's how much they cost in Canada

You might want to start a conversation early about how you plan to make rent next summer if you’re considering attending the FIFA World Cup.
On Wednesday, the first batch of fans successfully completed the Visa presale draw, granting them the right to purchase tickets for the FIFA World Cup.
While there was massive interest in the first of many presale draws, little was known about the cost of tickets for each round of the tournament.
Six matches of next year’s 48-team tournament are being held in Toronto, while seven will be played in Vancouver. Toronto has been awarded the rights to host Canada’s opening group stage game, four other group stage games, and a round of 32 game. Meanwhile, Vancouver will host two Canada games, three other group stage games, and a pair of knockout games in the round of 32 and round of 16.
The Athletic’s Henry Bushnell compiled a price list for each match of the tournament, sourced from fans who were lucky enough to get through the first presale. Each match is designated into four different categories for pricing, with Category 1 costing the most, compared to the cheapest in Category 4.
We’ve taken those numbers from Bushnell and converted them into Canadian dollars at the current conversion rate of 1.40, allowing for an estimate of each price range for matches in Toronto and Vancouver.

The most expensive match in Canada is the opening match in Toronto, with the cheapest tickets going for nearly C$500. Given that it’s the first-ever Canadian FIFA World Cup match on home soil, it makes sense that there would be a heightened price point.
Tickets range in price from C$84 to C$2,443 for matches in Toronto.

In Vancouver, ticket prices range from $84 to $826.

Are there other ways to get FIFA World Cup tickets?
If you haven’t been one of the lucky few to make it through the first presale draw, not to fret.
The second lottery will take place from Oct. 27 to 31, with a third and final lottery scheduled for shortly after the World Cup draw on Dec. 5. Both lotteries will give their winners specific purchase instructions and timeframes, should they be successful.
FIFA has made it clear that they cannot guarantee tickets will be available for purchase to successful draw winners at their designated time slot.
All remaining tickets will then be made available to the general public.
All details about how to get tickets are available via FIFA’s official ticketing platform. There are also plans in the works for an official resale platform once the lotteries have concluded.
Draw winners will be assigned a specific time slot for purchasing tickets, which will include selections for all 104 World Cup matches, as well as venue- and team-specific tickets.
