Fans who entered the FIFA World Cup ticket draw are slowly beginning to learn their fate.

The first stage of the lottery opened Sept. 10, and on Sept. 29, fans began receiving good-news emails about the 2026 tournament taking place in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

Fans selected will be given a date and time slot in which they can purchase tickets.

That doesn’t guarantee you a seat, as there are limited tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who are selected will have the opportunity to purchase up to four tickets per match, for a maximum of 10 matches.

Here’s what the email looks like:

There will be additional phases for fans to apply for tickets, with a second early-ticket draw set to begin in late October.

FIFA has said that fans will be notified by email whether they’re successful or not, but if you haven’t received one yet, you’re not alone.

So far, it seems that many hopefuls have yet to hear whether or not they were successful in the initial lottery draw.

FIFA states that if selected, fans may receive a notification up to 48 hours prior to their designated time to buy tickets. This gives hope that if you entered the draw and have not received an email yet, you may still receive positive news in the days to come. The time slots to purchase tickets begin on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to begin in June, with Canada, the U.S., and Mexico all serving as host countries. Canada will host 13 matches in total – seven at BC Place in Vancouver and six at BMO Field in Toronto.
