Etobicoke shooting leaves 29-year-old man dead

A man is dead after a Friday night shooting in Etobicoke, Toronto police say.

The victim was found lying face down in the snow near the West Mall and Rathburn Road, Const. Edward Parks told Daily Hive.

The call came in around 11 pm, and first responders rushed the man to hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was 29 years old.

Two people were seen running away from the scene, Toronto Police Operations tweeted. But there’s no word yet on any suspects or whether this was a targeted shooting.

The area was closed while officers investigated. Police are asking anyone who was in the area and saw or heard anything to contact them at 416-808-2222 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
