Here comes the rain again… and lots of it. So much so that Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Toronto.
According to the weather agency, there is potential for heavy rainfall today.
“A few rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected today across portions of southern Ontario,” reads the statement. “The rain is expected to be periodic in nature with significant breaks from time to time.”
However, Environment Canada says, as the air mass will be very moist, torrential downpours giving significant rainfall amounts in relatively short periods of time are likely.
At this point, it appears that many areas will receive between 20 to 40 mm of rain by this evening.
Areas that get several thunderstorms may receive significantly higher amounts, it warns.
The clouds should clear by tomorrow morning.
For today, don’t forget your umbrella… and your rubber boots… and rain jacket.
