Don Alfonso 1890 set to reopen as an elegant pop-up next month

Toronto couldn’t say bye just yet. Michelin-starred fine-dining restaurant Don Alfonso 1890 will reopen as a pop-up in Toronto’s Casa Loma next month.

The announcement highlights an intimate, 60-seat pop-up in the Conservatory of Casa Loma starting on September 16.

“When we were forced to shutter Don Alfonso, we never expected such an overwhelming outcry of support from Toronto’s sophisticated dining community, the media, the hospitality industry and the city as a whole,” said president and CEO of Liberty Group, Nick Di Donato.

“We hoped one day to find another location suitable for the establishment and its internationally lauded design.”

According to the release, on September 16 at 5 pm, the dinner service will welcome guests, featuring well-known dishes and contemporary vegetarian tasting menus.

If you’d love to check out the pop-up, OpenTable will have reservations beginning this week.

With furniture imported directly from Italy, and a beautiful floral exhibition in the background, this pop-up places emphasis on elegance.

“We look forward to welcoming loyal fans and guests to our special Don Alfonso installation at Casa Loma and believe it will be just as memorable and spectacular as our original experience,” said Di Donato.
