Toronto’s only drive-in movie theatre will NOT reopen this summer

The drive-in is officially extinct in Toronto.

Toronto’s last remaining drive-in movie theatre at The Docks Driving Range announced via Facebook this week that it will not open this season and will work to improve the existing golf facilities on site instead.

The full message on Facebook reads, “We here at The Docks want to say thank you to all of our loyal patrons who supported the Drive-In all the years it was operating. However, we have had to make the difficult decision not to open this season. We are currently working extremely hard to improve our golf facilities to make your next visit to The Docks your best one yet! With the Drive-In no longer open in the evenings we will be open for extended hours on the weekends during the summertime.”

The Docks Drive-In was truly the last of its kind in Toronto – those that want to watch a movie from the comfort of their car will now need to make the drive to The Stardust north of Newmarket, 5 Drive-In in Oakville, Mustang Drive-In in Guelph, or the Can-View Drive-In in Fonthill.
