"Dangerous and illegal" stunt driving shuts down GTA highway (VIDEO)

Ontario Provincial Police are condemning a video that shows dangerous stunt driving on a stretch of highway in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt tweeted a video from 6ixbuzztv’s Instagram account on Sunday evening, which shows a driver doing donuts in the middle of a stretch of highway.

During the video, the camera quickly pans to a sign for Pearson Airport and Viscount Road/Airport Road exits, which suggests the incident was near highways 427 and 409.

In the video, a group of motorists can be seen blocking the lanes of the busy highway as a driver repeatedly spins in circles doing donuts in front of a crowd of bystanders.

Some bystanders can be seen walking across the highway lanes as they film the stunt, which Schmidt referred to as “dangerous and illegal.”

“This is not only dangerous and illegal, it is disappointing when a mob mentality of hijacking a highway to make a scene like this is conducted. We are better than this…aren’t we?”

At this time, there’s been no update on if any charges have been laid in connection to the video.
