Toronto is the most expensive city for a date night in Canada

Just like rent, love costs a pretty penny in Toronto.

In fact, Toronto is the most expensive place in Canada for a date, according to a study by EliteSingles.

EliteSingles defined a date night as one including dinner for two, a bottle of wine, two movie tickets, and an 8-km taxi ride.

And the dating site then looked at the average costs of these items in 15 major Canadian cities and in 30 capital cities around the world.

On average in 2019, date night in Canada cost $127. But in Toronto, that romantic night will cost an average of $150. In Vancouver, the same date is $149.

“Toronto has knocked Vancouver off the #1 position that it held in 2018 — but only just. A 2019 date night in Toronto will set you back $150. The cost of the same date night in Vancouver is $149 — a difference of only a dollar,” said the dating site.

“That means a date in Toronto costs $23 more than an average date in Canada, while Vancouver is $22 more expensive.”

On the other hand, Quebec City is the cheapest place for a date night, where the average cost there is $112, that’s $38 less than Toronto.
