Peel Regional Police are investigating an attempted convenience store robbery in Mississauga.

According to police, the male suspect fled after employees “defended themselves by striking the suspect with a banana.”

The weekend robbery took place in the area of Hurontario Street and John Street, and police say that no one was injured.

The suspect remains at large at this time.
