You’re probably already familiar with the Blue Mountains’ Scenic Caves just outside Collingwood.

What you may not know, however, is that this summer hot spot in the Niagara Escarpment is also home to Ontario’s longest twin zip line (2550 feet long).

The Thunderbird Twin Zip Line sends you barreling down the mountain from atop the Escarpment, with a vertical drop of 287 feet. Of course, you don’t have to barrel down – riders can also choose to slow down along the way or come to a complete stop to take in the #views.

Back to the barreling: zip liners can reach speeds of up to 70 km/h, which is probably faster than what you can achieve in your car driving from Toronto to Collingwood on a summer weekend.

Thrill-seekers must first sign their life away on a waiver before ascending the 50-foot tower to the zip lines, which are located at the highest point of the Niagara Escarpment. As you soar above the tree tops, you can marvel at the sights of southern Georgian Bay – Collingwood, the Blue Mountains, Wasaga Beach, and even Christian Island.

Or you can close your eyes and scream.
