Toronto is in the grips of yet another snowstorm, and universities and colleges across the city are responding accordingly.
Under both a heavy snowfall warning and an Extreme Cold Weather Alert, Toronto is quickly being buried under a thick layer of snow.
Snowfall amounts of near 15 cm are expected today, and snow will continue all day before ending later tonight.
As well, locally higher amounts of 20 cm are possible near the west end of Lake Ontario.
Environment Canada also warns that rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
Institutions that have closed or will be closing later today include Centennial, Sheridan, Humber.
Based on the latest forecast, all Centennial campus locations will close at 12:30 pm today. The College’s child care centres will remain open until all children are picked up. Please travel with care this afternoon. We fully expect the College to be open as usual tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/5oS4xKaaME
