A ride at the CNE is closed until further notice after one person died and several others were injured on a similar ride in Ohio this week.
According to operators North American Midway Entertainment, the Fire Ball ride will be closed until further notice.
“While North American Midway Entertainment is not the Midway provider at the Ohio State Fair, due to the tragic incident there this evening we will keep all our Fire Ball rides closed until further notice from the manufacturer for precautionary safety measures,” the company said on Facebook.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with all involved.”
On June 9, the company had posted a picture of the Fire Ball ride with the following caption:
Our extremely talented folks in our shop have finished the ground up refurb of the every popular “Fire Ball”. Coming to Winnipeg, Calgary Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon and Toronto this summer. Now playing in Brandon until this Sunday.
