If you happen to walk past the corner of King and Bay this week, don’t be surprised if you see a gigantic 10-foot tall “Thank You” card.

To mark the 35th anniversary of CIBC Miracle Day, the giant card, which will be at King and Bay until December 18, shares “Thank Yous” from children to the CIBC clients, employees, and charities who have helped raise more than $250 million globally since 1984 as part of its annual fundraiser.

CIBC Miracle Day is an annual tradition that happens on the first Wednesday of every December, when CIBC Capital Markets and CIBC Wood Gundy team members donate their fees and commissions in an effort to help kids in need. Last year, CIBC Miracle Day raised $5.7 million for more than 500 Canadian charities.

To celebrate CIBC Miracle Day’s 35th anniversary, CIBC is sharing some of the thousands of “Thank Yous” they have received from children across the country. Some of the heartfelt notes include, “Thank you for the Power Chair,” “Thank you for Iggy, I love him,” and “Now I can hear the birds sing.”

Earlier this month, Canadian figure skater, world champion, and Olympic medalist Tessa Virtue unveiled the giant card to the public, while athletes, actors, charities, and kids joined CIBC’s trading floor to connect with clients and help fundraise at the trading desk as if it was all in a regular day’s work.
