Hotel, townhouses with underground parking proposed to replace Cadillac Lounge

Cadillac Lounge’s former address may be rezoned into a development with hotel suites and underground parking, according to Toronto City Councillor Gord Perks’ website.

A developer is looking to apply for a rezoning of 1296 Queen Street West — the iconic hangout’s former home — to 1314 Queen Street West, Perks’ site says.

The potential changes, based on how the proposal currently stands, could include a seven-storey (plus mechanical penthouse) mixed-use building with hotel suites, event and retail space, and townhouses.

The development would also contain underground parking, the number of vehicles for which is yet to be determined.

Perks’ site offers information on a “pre-application” meeting taking place so that the community can get a first look at what the developer might propose, and offer feedback.

The meeting will consist of a presentation from the applicant, followed by a question-and-answer period led by Perks.

City Planning staff will be in attendance to answer questions.
