The Toronto Blue Jays and Cavan Biggio are parting ways.

According to a Wednesday report from ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired Biggio in a one-for-one trade with the Blue Jays.

In return for the 29-year-old, Toronto received right-handed reliever Braydon Fisher from Los Angeles.

After confirming the news this afternoon, the Jays shared a social media post thanking Biggio for his time with the club.

Biggio, a Houston, Texas, native, has hit .200 with two homers over 44 games this season and has struck out 42 times in 110 at-bats. The veteran was designated for assignment by the Jays on Friday.

Selected by Toronto in the fifth round of the 2016 MLB Draft, Biggio made his Blue Jays debut in 2019.

Biggio had a .234 batting average with 83 hits, 16 homers, 48 RBIs and 66 runs scored in 100 games for the Blue Jays in his rookie season in 2019. His batting average topped out at .250 in 2020 and has averaged .227 over the course of his six seasons with Toronto.

Fisher, meanwhile, has posted a 5.68 ERA between Double-A and Triple-A this season. The 23-year-old pitcher has a 4.53 ERA throughout 134 pro outings.
