Blue Jays players wear each other's jerseys on Toronto streets

Anyone who’s attended a major event in downtown Toronto knows how hectic the crowds getting in or out of the venue can be.

With only a few ways to enter and exit from the major venues and typically thousands of people trying to find their way around, both public transit and the streets can often be jammed for what seems like forever.

As emphasized by multiple Leafs opponents visiting the city during rush hour, Niall Horan, and even Toronto athletes themselves, sometimes it’s simply easier to walk around town than deal with Toronto traffic when on your way to a game in town.

And while seeing Blue Jays players navigating outside the Rogers Centre on foot isn’t all that uncommon, a pair of teammates opted for going a bit incognito, even if it’s not that uncommon from what they’d look like on the field.

Davis Scheider and Myles Straw opted to hit the road from the Rogers Centre on Thursday night after a day game wearing a pair of Blue Jays jerseys, but not their own.

Perhaps on some bet or maybe just for kicks, the pair opted to walk through the streets of the city wearing each other’s jerseys, following a 2-1 win over the Chicago Cubs that also clinched the series win for Toronto.

The pair was seen in a video posted by the Blue Jays wandering by a downtown Earls location on King Street, about a 15-minute walk away from the Rogers Centre.

The Blue Jays return to the Rogers Centre on Friday to host the Texas Rangers for the first of a three-game set, with the first pitch set for 7:07 p.m. Straw and Schneider are not listed in the starting lineup, so we can only imagine what sort of hijinks they might be pulling off in the dugout in the meantime.
