Terrible Toronto traffic forces Maple Leafs opponent to walk to the game

The Toronto Maple Leafs are going into tonight’s game with what you could refer to as a home-ice advantage.
The Leafs are set to take on the Carolina Hurricanes tonight in what will be their first game back following the 4 Nations Face-Off break. Some of the top stars on both teams may be a bit worn out from participating in the tournament, though the ‘Canes may have even lower energy levels due to a traffic jam in Toronto.
Traffic is often an issue in Toronto, especially during the winter months where the roads can be rather slick. Perhaps due to the less-than-ideal conditions, a traffic jam forced the Hurricanes to walk to Scotiabank Arena rather than getting a ride over.

Thankfully, the weather in Toronto isn’t all too bad today, with the temperature in the downtown area currently sitting at -3°C.
The Hurricanes, who are known for their funny banter on social media, had some laughs regarding the situation today, responding to several fans who had a good chuckle watching the players walk to the arena. “In our health and wellness era,” they responded to one individual who noted that it was good to see them getting their steps in.
that does sound pretty sweet

This is a big game for the Leafs, who sit just three points shy of the Florida Panthers for first in the Atlantic Division with two games in hand. The Hurricanes, meanwhile, sit second in the Metro, but are just two points up on the New Jersey Devils.
