Toronto Blue Jays owners recently met with free-agent superstar Juan Soto, and it seems that they made a good impression.
After missing out on Shohei Ohtani in last year’s free-agent sweepstakes, the Blue Jays are gearing up to try and land another perennial superstar, this time in Soto. The Jays have been linked to the 26-year-old for some time and recently made an in-person presentation, which seems to have gone quite well.
Hear at least Jays and Red Sox owners made impressive in-person presentations to Juan Soto, but multiple team owners are yet to present and will do so in coming days.

Though many Blue Jays fans are skeptical about the chances of landing Soto, you can at least appreciate that the organization is making a legitimate effort to do so. Given a recent report from ESPN’s Buster Olney that their front office is being viewed as very desperate to improve this offseason, perhaps they will shock the baseball world and somehow pull this off.
If the Blue Jays were to land Soto, it would immediately put them back into the conversation of World Series contender. The right fielder is coming off of an another incredible season in which he hit .288 with 41 home runs and 109 RBIs in 157 games with the New York Yankees. The strong year was enough to earn him the opportunity to play in the fourth All-Star Game of his career.
While the Blue Jays are attempting to improve their roster by targeting some of the top free agents available, such as Soto, they also have some internal work to do. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who had a solid 2024 season, has just one year remaining on his contract. Getting him signed to a long-term extension is and should be a top priority for this organization.
