Bichette’s heart is full watching Toronto Blue Jays teammate Guerrero star in the playoffs

Bo Bichette had high praise for Toronto Blue Jays teammate Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in a recent interview.

Bichette and Guerrero have had a long-lasting relationship, as both came through the minor-league ranks together and made their Blue Jays debuts during the 2019 season. They’ve both served as the faces of this organization for several years and have been pivotal pieces to the Jays’ success in 2025.

When asked what makes Guerrero such an elite hitter, both for power and average, Bichette made it very clear that he believes the 26-year-old is the best bat in the entire MLB when at his best.

“Obviously he’s incredibly talented. I think that, like myself, he was brought up in an old school mindset a little bit,” Bichette explained. “He’s learned to hit the ball the other way, learned to play out front, learned what a good approach is. When he’s right, I don’t think there’s a hitter on the planet that is as good as him, and I think he’s showing the world that.”

Guerrero continued what has been an excellent postseason so far on Thursday night, picking up two hits, including a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning.

Through 33 at-bats in the playoffs, Guerrero is hitting a ridiculous .455 with five home runs and 11 RBI. Seven of his 15 hits have been for extra bases, showing just how good of contact he’s making on the ball right now.

As for Bichette, he’s been unable to suit up in the playoffs due to a knee injury. It’s been a big loss for the Jays, as the shortstop’s 181 hits this season were tied for the second most amongst all MLB players, despite the fact that he only played in 139 games.

Although Bichette remains sidelined, he’s making some clear progress. Ahead of Thursday’s outing, he was spotted sprinting in the outfield.

With Thursday’s result, the Blue Jays are just two wins away from advancing to the World Series. Should they do so, it seems like there is a legitimate possibility we could see Bichette back on the roster.
