Equally as solid of an option for running as it is for hiking, the Beltline Trail is not only one of the city’s most convenient running paths – thanks to its prime location in the city core – it will get you up close and personal with nature. The trail spans from Bayview Ave. and Danforth Ave. all the way up to Allen Rd. and Eglinton Ave.
One of the most peaceful places to run is through the winding, flower and tree-lined roads of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Free from the sounds and chaos of the surrounding city, a run through the city’s largest cemetery is a perfect time for a little serenity and reflection.
If you’re looking for a greenery-filled run that feels more removed from the city core, you’ll find it up at Sunnybrook Park. A 6.5-kilometre trail runs from one end of the park to another.
If a convenient, power run is more your reality, Queen’s Park makes a solid option. Located at Wellesley and Queen’s Park Crescent, the northern part of the park offers a running loop that is almost 1 kilometre-long. The number of times you choose to go around it, of course, is up to you.

For the skilled (and super ambitious) set who can go the distance, The Martin Goodman Trail takes you on a scenic run all the way from the Exhibition Place to the Humber River. Following the shore of Lake Ontario and taking runners through breezy city parks, this trail offers easy pavement pounding with smooth, even asphalt.
If you’re in the market for short, sweet and scenic, the Taylor Creek Trail could be your best option. Offering a nature-filled run down a single fork of the Don River, the 3.5 kilometre-long trail offers a mix of asphalt and compacted soil.
Reward yourself with a view-filled break as you escape the city on a run through the Leslie Street Spit/Tommy Thompson Park. The trail is a 5-kilometre run each way and offers unmatched views of the cityscape.
