What a week, Toronto!

From our emotional farewell to Toronto FC‘s epic season, to our first snow storm of the winter, the city has had a fair share of action this week. In between it all, the sun shined, the christmas lights continued to sparkle, and pictures were taken.

And every Monday, we feature your beautiful snaps of Toronto. So take the pictures, show off our city’s beauty, and tag us #DailyHiveTO.

36,000 people. 1 heartbeat. 🇨🇦⚽️#AllForOne #MLSCup

Yesterday and tomorrow cross and mix on the skyline. The two are lost in a purple haze. One forgets, one waits.

Casa Loma is the only full sized castle in North America. It was built from 1911 – 1914 for Sir Henry Pellatt for $3.5 million. Built in the Gothic Revival style, it has 98 rooms, turrets, secret passages, a military museum and gardens. Pellatt only ended up living there for 10 years due to financial troubles. During Prohibition in the 1920s, the castle was used as a luxury hotel and night spot that attracted well off Americans among others. Casa Loma sat abandoned for many years until it was seized by the city in 1933 for back taxes and leased to the Kiwanis Club in 1937 as a tourist attraction. During the WW2, it was used as a site to conduct secret research on sonar that was used to detect submarines. From 1997 to 2011, over $33 million was spent on exterior renovations. Currently, there is a lease deal with an entertainment company and the castle remains a popular tourist destination and special event location. It has also been featured in numerous movies. #exploretoronto #torontolife #lovetoronto #blogto #torontoclicks #inside_To #narcitytoronto #toronto_insta #dailyhiveto #toronto.libgram #imagesoftoronto #memoirsoftoronto #casaloma
