A 19-year-old Toronto man was arrested and charged following what police are calling an unprovoked stabbing last week at the Beaches Jazz Festival.
According to police, on Thursday, July 25, at 10:50 pm, a man was stabbed at Queen Street East and Hammersmith Avenue.
A map on the Beaches Jazz Fest website shows that the stabbing occurred right in the middle of the large festival.
Investigators say the victim was approached by a man who allegedly “instigated an unprovoked physical altercation.”
The victim was then stabbed by the male suspect, causing critical injuries, and transported to hospital.
