Grant van Gameren's Bar Piquette reopens for takeout
Grant van Gameren is behind many of the city’s finest bars and restaurants: Bar Isabel, Bar Raval, Quetzal, Rosalinda, and more (including Parkdale’s ex-cult classic, Harry’s).
And since the start of this pandemic, most of these joints — save for Harry’s returning to the streets via Uber Eats — have been quiet.
Now, finally, a few of these highly-regarded eateries are opening back up, which means Queen West is welcoming back Bar Piquette.
The wine and snack bar is operating differently now, all things considered, but what remains the same is your ability to drop by for wines you can’t find at the LCBO and a loaded mortadella sandwich.

Patrons can now order for pickup or delivery from the spot’s selection of wine, food, and grocery options.
Operating out of the eatery’s 1084 Queen Street West storefront, orders placed before midnight will be available for pickup the following day (except Mondays and Tuesdays). Locals looking to get delivery will be able to receive on Wednesdays and Saturdays, so long as they fall within the spot’s delivery zone.
You can check if you qualify for delivery by inputting your postal code online.

The restaurant’s website reminds customers that any alcohol orders must be accompanied by a food purchase, but a quick browse through the menu hints that shouldn’t be a problem.
Boozy options include orange, sparkling, red, white and rosé wines, plus a variety of craft brews. To munch on, you can order the joint’s loaded mortadella sandwich, or opt for a stock-up on schmancy grocery items like tinned tomatoes, maple syrup, stuffed squid, or stone-milled flour.
