Team behind Mamakas opening intimate Greek snack bar on Ossington

The team behind Mamakas Taverna and Agora is set to open its latest venture: an intimate Greek snack bar tucked away from the Ossington strip.

On November 26, the Mamakas Food Group will open the doors to Bar Koukla, a casual, intimate snack bar setting, inspired by the Mezzedopolion bars found along the streets of Athens and Thessaloniki.

A space where traditional touches merge effortlessly with contemporary design, Bar Koukla will serve diners authentic meze plates, raw seafood flown in from Aegean, all-natural Greek bio-dynamic wines, and a carefully curated variety of cocktails.

“This one is especially dear and very personal to me as our newest family member to the Mamakas of restaurants, our ‘beautiful little baby,'” reads an Instagram post from the owner, Thanos Tripi.

Given Mamakas track record, we can already tell that Bar Koukla is going to be good.
