Orphan at Christmas? Sick of cooking? Seeking more excitement than a movie and chow mein? A day of skiing and a festive all-you-can-eat buffet might be just the ticket to lift your spirits!

Horseshoe Valley, home to ski slopes, snowshoe trails, and a newly expanded snow tubing hill is also hosting a Winter Wonderland Festive Buffet Dinner on Christmas Day.

Reservations are a must and available during three seatings (1 pm, 3:30 pm, and 6 pm) for an AYCE feast at the ski resort’s Inn Steakhouse.

On the menu, selections of soups, salads, and house-baked breads, antipasto, oysters, chilled seafood, a carvery station stocked with roasted beef striploin, golden turkey with all the trimmings, and festive additions like duck confit, and butternut squash ravioli, along with mountains of stuffing, mashed potatoes, and roasted root veggies.

For dessert, sticky toffee pudding, pies, cakes, tortes, and a Christmas cupcake tower plus cheesecake, yule log, cherries jubilee flambé, fruit, and an array of local cheese.

The feast is priced at $54.99 for adults while children 5 to 12 years of age cost $24.99, probably best enjoyed after working up an appetite outdoors in the one place that you’re pretty much guaranteed a white Christmas.

Unlimited holiday lift tickets ($55-$69) include skiing from 9 am and 9 pm.
