Toronto is hosting an apple pie-baking competition this weekend

This weekend, the Trinity Bellwoods BIA is hosting its third annual Do Pie event.

And while the Apple Pie contest itself focuses on the best baking, someone needs to eat all the goodies after they’ve been judged.

Which is where you come in.

Organized to raise funds for the Women’s Own Withdrawl Centre, Do Pie will take place at A-Game Cafe, 797 Dundas Street West, on Sunday, November 10.

Everyone is invited to bake an Apple Pie for the event, and the top three winners will be eligible to win a special prize from local, neighbourhood businesses.

If you’d like to partake in the competition, all you need to do is register online or in person at Comrags, located at 812 Dundas Street West.

Then, ensure your treat is delivered to A-Game Cafe between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm on the day of the event. You can anticipate a $10 (plus tax) participation fee.

And even if you don’t choose to bake a creation, you’re still welcome to enter the event for free. Pie will be served up at $5 a slice, and there will be an auction at 3:30 pm for the winning pies.

All proceeds from the event, including participation fees, will be donated to the Women’s Own Withdrawal Centre.
