Andre 3000 rocks Mitch Marner Leafs jersey during LA festival set

The Toronto Maple Leafs got an unexpected shoutout at Los Angeles’ Camp Flog Gnaw Festival this weekend when a piece of their merch took centre stage.
Andre 3000, one-half of the iconic rap duo OutKast, opened his Sunday set sporting a vintage Toronto Arenas sweater, last worn on the ice by the Leafs in the 2017-18 season.

Other angles from his set, which included songs from his solo flute album, show that the 49-year-old was repping Mitch Marner’s No. 16 on the back of the Adidas jersey.

Funnily enough, the Atlanta-born artist’s most recent fashion choice is not the only connection between him and Toronto’s pro sports teams.
On Halloween, former Raptors forward Pascal Siakam unveiled his Andre 3000 costume with a parody video of him lip-syncing to Outkast’s smash hit “Hey Ya!”

Like fellow hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg, Andre 3000 seems to have taken up an affinity for NHL jerseys in recent years.
In September, the 49-year-old was seen donning a white Chicago Blackhawks jersey while meeting with fans.

And back in 2021, Outkast released a limited-edition hockey jersey to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their album ATLiens.
