Air Canada has issued travel alerts for Toronto, warning customers of potential flight disruptions due to bad weather.

According to the airline, it issues alerts “when forecasted weather or other conditions may cause flight delays and possible cancellations.”

Toronto Pearson Airport and Billy Bishop Airport have travel alerts for January 25 and 26, as Air Canada says that “flights may be impacted by forecasted snow.”

On Friday, Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for Toronto ahead of “significant rainfall” that’s expected to hit the city Friday night.

The statement said that rain is expected to begin in the late afternoon or early evening, and then ease up and evolve into snow Saturday morning or afternoon.

Prior to leaving for the airport, Air Canada is recommending that travellers check their Flight Status or call Air Canada’s automated flight information system at 1-888-422-7533.
