The 14-year-old boy who was allegedly abducted over his brother’s drug debt has been found safe.

Toronto Police say 14-year-old Shammah Jolayemi “is safe” and was taken for a medical check up on Thursday night.

The Toronto Police Service is expected to share more information on the alleged abduction on Friday morning.

On Thursday, investigators said they believed two or three men forced the 14-year-old into a Jeep Wrangler before school on March 4, near his home in the Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue area.

“We believe that Shammah was abducted as retribution for an unpaid drug debt,” Toronto Police Service Supt. Steve Watts told reporters Thursday.

The money was allegedly owed by Shammah’s step-brother for a cocaine purchase. The brother has fled the Greater Toronto Area but is cooperating with police, they said.
