10 celebrities to try and spot in Toronto this April

Is there anything better than a celebrity sighting?! The hustle and bustle, fans screaming their name, trying to sneak a quick pic, or if you’re lucky maybe even an autograph.

With seven movies and TV shows currently in production in the city, you just never know when you might spot your favourite actor or actress off-set, roaming the streets of the 6ix.

Here are eight celebrity faces to try and spot in Toronto this April.

Viggo Mortensen may be spotted in Toronto this month for his latest role in the feature film Falling. You may remember him as Aragorn from The Lord of the Rings trilogy, or in movies like Far from Men, A Dangerous Method, Captain Fantastic, and most recently Green Book.

Minka Kelly

Minka Kelly will be in Toronto for her role in the second season of the series Titans. Kelly got her first major role as Lyla on the hit television series Friday Night Lights, and then went on to star in feature films like The Roommate, 500 days of Summer, and Just Go With It.

Alexis Bledel will be in Toronto this month for season three of The Handmaid’s Tale. Bedel is widely recognized for playing Rory from Gilmore Girls, including the reunion mini-series on Netflix, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Bledel has also starred in movies like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Sin City, and Post Grad.

Elisabeth Moss

Elisabeth Moss will also be in Toronto filming for the third season of The Handmaid’s Tale. Moss has starred in television shows like The West Wing, Top of the Lake and Mad Men. Her role in The Handmaid’s Tale won her a Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding lead actress in a drama series.

Yvonne Strahovski

Joining these ladies on the set of The Handmaid’s Tale is Australian actress Yvonne StrahovskiYou may remember her best as Hannah McKay in the hit show Dexter, or as Sarah Walker in the NBC series Chuck.

Eugene Levy

The hilarious Eugene Levy may be spotted in Toronto this April. Levy is currently filming for the sixth and final season of the hit show Schitt’s Creek alongside his son Daniel Levy, who also plays Levy’s child in the show. From Hamilton, Ontario, Levy is best known for starring in all eight of the American Pie films and his groundbreaking work as part of Second City.

Catherine O’Hara

Joining Levy on the set of Schitt’s Creek is actress, writer, and comedian Catherine O’Hara. O’Hara has starred in many movies from Heartburn alongside Meryl Streep, to the voice of Sally in The Nightmare Before Christmas, or maybe you remember her best as Kevin McCallister’s mom in the Home Alone films.

Maddie Hasson

Maddie Hasson may be spotted in Toronto this April filming for her role in season two of Impulse. Best known for playing Willa Monday from the Fox series The Finder, Hasson has also starred in the ABC series Twisted, before going on to snag the lead role in Impulse.

Keegan-Michael Key

Keegan-Michael Key is a busy guy these days! After recently wrapping up his latest movie Playing with Fire in Vancouver the past few months, Key may be spotted in Toronto filming for the second season of Impulse. Key started out on the Comedy Central sketch series Key & Peele, and has made appearances in several films like Let’s Be CopsWhy Him?, Tomorrowland, and Pitch Perfect 2, among others.

Missi Pyle
