Enjoy a multitude of family-friendly events at Seattle Center's Winterfest

Those hoping to hop on the Winterfest train or go for a spin on the ice rink are out of luck this year, as the winter festival at Seattle Center is looking a little different than in years past.

This year, Winterfest is going virtual.

Rather than having student showcases on stage, Seattle Center is offering Student Showcases online. Catch soloists dancing like soldiers, ballerinas, singing tap-dancers, choir shows, gymnasts, and more from the comfort of your couch.

If you enjoyed watching the cultural celebrations at Winterfest, watch the virtual festál holiday videos where you’ll find performances, cooking demonstrations, and other holiday celebrations. New content is added each Saturday.

To get the kids involved, Seattle Center is hosting a coloring contest. Simply download one of three coloring sheets, have your kids color, and one will be chosen in a random draw to win a prize pack.

The one Winterfest tradition that’s remaining in-person is the campus luminata: lights around the campus. Pop by the Seattle Center and visit the gorgeous winter light display. Remember to don your mask and stay distanced.

Winterfest is currently running until December 31 and can be enjoyed online.
