According to the Western Washington Fruit Research Foundation, the berries are high in vitamin C and antioxidants and can be eaten fresh or in jams, juices, syrups, or dried.

Those interested in making goodies with the berries will be happy to hear that Washington farmers are now offering blackcurrants in wholesale 15-pound boxes, ready for pickup in Bellevue on July 19.
The 15-pound boxes are $35 each and are available for ordering through this form.
