Much like life these days, the West Seattle Bridge is starting to crack.
According to Mayor Jenny Durkan, the bridge will close to the public at 7 pm tonight with no clear re-opening date. It will remain open for transit, freight, and emergency responders as of right now.

Last week, inspections on the high-rise bridge reportedly showed that cracks are getting bigger.
As a lifelong West Seattleite, I know how difficult it can be for the 80k or so of us on the peninsula when connections with the rest of the region are interrupted.
We will do everything in our power to make sure West Seattle has strong transit alternatives during the repair.
