For those that live near the water, this warning goes out to you: There is a Weather Alert of rising rivers later this week. The rain is expected to continue through Saturday and ease up by Sunday, December 22.

There is expected precipitation of three to six inches, which could cause rising rivers later this week, which poses a possible flood risk.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday and Tuesday will bring in showers along the coast, as well as a few showers inland, especially the North Interior.

On Wednesday, there will be light rain for lowlands, and light snow for the mountains. The snow will build up in the mountains on Thursday and Friday while remaining rainy in the Lowlands.

If you’re looking to watch the flood forecasts, they can be monitored online through the National Weather Service.
