7 of our favorite spots for a warm bowl of soup in Seattle

Apr 7 2021, 11:55 pm

Even though spring has officially sprung, Seattle is no stranger to the gristle of a cold wind that can chill your bones.

The perfect solution is a wickedly delicious bowl of hot soup.

Seattle, with its vastness of options, is home to some of the best bowls of warmth you could ask for.

Here are seven of our favorite spots to grab a hot bowl of soup in Seattle:

Cafe Presse

Don’t miss out on Cafe Presse’s French soups. The soups are wonderful on their own but are especially great when paired with one of the restaurant’s many sandwiches.

It would be rather odd if the Great Northwest Soup Company didn’t have any tasty soups. Lucky for us, all of their soups are equally as scrumptious. You’ll have to arrive early, however, as soup choices change by the day and are first come first served.

Lect’s Soup Stop is so into soup that they’ve even created a soup calendar for the month. Simply go online, check out what soup you’d like, and make sure to stop by on that day. You can also make any sandwich a soup-and-sandwich combo by adding an eight-ounce cup of soup for $3.

Enjoy fancy tasting soups at a decent price at Marmite. We love the Bouillon Farni de Legumes et Gnocchi aux Trois Saveur (early spring vegetables and fresh gnocchi in a house vegetable stock) as well as the Soupe aux Ortis (purƩed nettles and potato with house chicken stock and creme fraiche.) See? You probably read those two soups in a fancy accent, too.

The menu at Billiard Hoang is going to overwhelm you ā€” weā€™re sure of that. Stick to the pho soups, however, and youā€™ll be happy and set. We love the oxtail pho. Itā€™s perfect with basil, jalapeƱo, lime, onion, and cilantro.

Pike Place Chowder

Is a chowder a soup? We like to think so. Of course, if you’re going to get chowder, you go to Pike Place Chowder. The world-famous Pike Place hot spot serves up four types of chowder and even a sampler option, which lets you try out four five-ounce cups of your choosing.

Rather than typical Bangkok food, Soi focuses onĀ Isan-style food, offering an exploration of the five different regions of Thailand. We love their noodle soups and rice porridge congees.
