Seattle Public Schools releases their 2020 fall calendar

The Seattle Public School board has officially voted and decided on this years’ 2020-2021 school calendar.

While all students in Grade 1 through 12 will begin on Friday, September 4, the grades will have varying start times.

Elementary and K-8 schools will follow the following hours:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:30 am – 3 pm
  • Wednesday: 8:30 am – 1:45 pm

Middle and high schools will follow the following hours:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9 am – 3:50 pm
  • Wednesday: 9 am – 2:35 pm

According to Seattle Public Schools, September 4 to 11 will be considered “Strong Start” days, which “will ensure a strong foundation for the rest of the year.”

“All educators will focus on supporting students’ social and emotional well-being, culturally responsive community building, family connections, and making sure students know how to use their technology tools to access learning.”
